TRIP INFORMATION

To cross from Langtang into Helambu, via the Ganja La Pass, is a serious undertaking requiring good equipment. For three to four days there are no teahouse facilities so we have to be fully self- sufficient. From the pass the views across the valley to the peaks of the Langtang Himal are particularly good.

The Ganja La Pass at 5160m is one of the most challenging in Nepal. Our Langtang trek takes you over this pass, as you make your way south from Langtang village (3500m) where the national park headquarters are located, to Tarke Gyang in Helambu. The pass is often blocked by snow, so local enquiries about its condition, good equipment and mountaineering experience are necessary for a safe crossing.

The Helambu villages exude a Tibetan feel with their fields enclosed by stone walls and herds of yaks, the most important animal for the people here. From Tarke Gyang, descend to Melamchi Khola before climbing to Pati Bhyanjyang, then trek down to Sundarijal, and a drive back to Kathmandu.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 01: Your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by our Airport Representative, and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Swayambhu, and Kathmandu durbar square). Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Drive Kathmandu (1350m) to Syabru Besi (1462m) by Jeep / Mini bus, via Trisuli Bazaar - Dhunche. - Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2581m). - Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang Village (3307m). - Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjing Gompa (3800m). - Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 07: Hiking around hidden valley. - Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 08: Trek to Ngegang. - Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 09: Ganja La Pass. - Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 10: Trek down to Dukpu. Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 11: Trek to Tarkeghyang. Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 12: Trek to Sermathang. Overnight at Tented Camp.
Day 13: Trek to Malamchipul Bazar, and drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14 Leisure day in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15 Transfer to Airport for your onward Journey. Farewell!
