Chulu East (6,584m.) is one of the Chulu peaks of the Manang Himal, soaring high above the Manang valley. The climb is combined with the popular, classic Annapurna Circuit trek, starting from Besishahar up to the Marsyangdi Valley, through Manang, across Thorung La and descending to the Kali Gandaki Valley and ultimately Pokhara.
The normal route is via the North–East Ridge. The Base Camp will be set up at 5400m. below a col which separates Chulu Far East and Chulu East. Climb the col and descend, crossing a glacial basin and then ascend steep scree slopes on the North-East Ridge to the High Camp. Continue along a snow ridge towards the summit. The summit commands sweeping views across to the Annapurna II, III and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak and Manaslu.
