Singu Chuli, an attractive mountain for climbing, is also known as Fluted Peak. It can be seen from Annapurna South Base Camp but its distinctive shape with a pointed ridge of snow and ice, is best seen from the moraine above the lodges. The normal route is via the North-East Face. Follow the trekking trail up to Machhapuchhre Base Camp and then cross the Annapurna South Glaciers and moraine to reach the grassy meadows and rock overhang which can be used as Base Camp ( 4,200m.). Climb north through the glaciers and pass a grassy shelf to a ridge where high camp will be set ( 4,900m.). From this camp, continue climbing between the glaciers and the flank of the mountain to reach a plateau below the North East Face. Fix Camp I on a shelf ( 5,600m.) just below the center of the face. Climb towards the right to just below a vertical wall (122m.). Follow a gully on the left and climb steep steps to the upper section of the East-Ridge and then to the summit.
